Sony KDL40EX503 wins What HiFi Supertest review

Well it looks like the first of the new 2010 Sony LCD televisions has come out on top in the What HiFi Supertest of the latest 40″ and 42″ televisions, the Sony KDL40EX503 got the full 5 Star rating.
According to What Hi Fi magazine the KDL40EX503 just managed to take the mantel away from Panasonic and the TX-P42G20 which was also reviewed and strongly recommended, but in their eyes the Sony just pipped them to the post and this was mainly due to cost, although if you head over to Panasonic TX-P42G20 you will be able to compare UK prices to find the cheapest deals.
According to What HiFi magazine the Sony kdl40ex503 40″ television has a more natural colour palette and a clearer, sharper image. When tested with the Blu Ray disc of Transformers 2 the kdl40ex503 handled the quick and slow panning scenes with confidence and composure that couldn’t be matched by the other televisions of simular price that was tested.
They also mentioned that there was no real backlight intrusion to speak of and that the black levels were supremely impressive.
The sum up of the kdl40ex503 was that it was “sensational value for money; with a class-leading picture quality across the board and has an imressively detailed sound to boot”.
